A real first visit. Not a 20-minute intake.
Your first appointment is 60 minutes, in-person, with Chelsea or Dr. Ravi. It's built on a foundation of work you and we have already done together: your myJourney story and a Medical Historian Session with one of our trained historians.
What a first visit actually looks like
A first psychiatric visit is often the only hour you'll spend with a new clinician for months. We've redesigned ours so that hour is spent on you — not on data-entry and forms.
Before you walk in, three things have already happened:
- myJourney — a secure, at-home intake covering medical, psychiatric, family, sleep, substance, and stressor history. About 20–30 minutes.
- Medical Historian Session — a 45-minute conversation with one of our trained medical historians who reviews your myJourney, asks follow-up questions, and structures your story so your clinician walks into the room already knowing who you are.
By the time you arrive at the Flood Building, we've already read your story, reviewed your cognitive data, and talked through the narrative. The hour with your clinician is for the real conversation: what's happening, what you've tried, and what the plan should be.
What we cover in the hour
- Your chief concern — what's hardest right now, and what you want to change
- Your history — psychiatric, medical, developmental, trauma, substance
- Differential diagnosis — what this probably is, what it might be, what we need to rule out
- Treatment options — medication, short-term therapy, lifestyle, in combination
- Questions — yours, in as much depth as you want
What you leave with
A working diagnosis. A treatment plan written down. A prescription if one is indicated. A scheduled follow-up (usually 2–4 weeks out). And a direct line to your care team between visits.
